Bear Necessities of LifeMusings of Teddy Bear Necessity's Household
to Whom It May Concern Bowling
2005.05.15 (Sun)
We went bowling with several friends the other day after about a decade of absence. Bowling is something that seems so tame and mundane, but it’s rather fun and entertaining when we actually do it. We had 6 people (3 couples), so each couple split to make 2 teams for a healthy competition. Russell is good at bowling for some reason and he attributes it to his "good form," which is this funny leg move. He came in #1 in 3 games, but I got the highest score of the day (=162) in one of the games! Since I highly doubt ]that this feat will ever be repeated, I had to take a photo for the record. See, the proof! 72nd Street Dog Run
2005.05.14 (Sat)
When we lived in NYC, we supported the creation of a dog run in Riverside Park at 72nd Street. It was a political statement for New Yorkers living with canine companions, born out of the reality of living in cramped space and needing some legitimate outlet to release their hounds. It took 9 years to convice the City at various levels of this cause, but the run is finally there. It is not perfect by any means, but we feel and hope that it's one giant step forward to vindicating the need of dog people as legitimate park users in a place like Manhattan where space is at premium in every sense. To commemorate the dog owners' efforts and pride, Teddy has left a mark on one of the tree benches there. We care what we care and we do what we do all and only because we have Teddy in our life. |
