First Christmas without Teddy
Last year on this day, Teddy and her kitties got out of the prison, aka quarantine, after arriving Japan. It was essentially their first day of life in a foreign country.

Their ordeal is reported here: Hard Times - Jailed!

On that day, we showed Teddy around her new neighborhood, and she was excited to see the new park, new dogs, new people and new smell. She was the kind of a dog who enjoyed experiencing new things to begin with, but especially because she had been cooped up in a small prison cell without company for 2 weeks, we remember her being very jolly that day.

This year is the first Christmas without Teddy in the last 10 years. It feels very strange not to have our little girl with us because we had always always ALWAYS made sure we'd spend holidays with her. Christmas holidays were Teddy's most favorite, too, because she could go to her grandparents' house and their parties where she got all sorts of attentions including showers of good food.

I still worry, sometimes, .. or rather, wonder if she is hungry or cold or bored or worried about anything. Woof and Florrie, her bestest pals from her youth, must have greeted Teddy at the door of heaven, and I only hope that the reunited go-for-it girls are having the time of their .. hmm ... afterlife, I suppose.
